Peer pressure and mocking, negative comments on her short height has made Leena develop negative attitude towards basketball. Has made her doubt her self-confidence and ability to excel at the game.

As a responsible cousin

Body · points

(i) I'll patiently listen to all the reasons why she doesn't want to play sports. (ii) Then in a calm and composed manner will teach her that

  • for success in any sport or activity in life - self-confidence and belief that "I can do it" is the most important

  • It is not height, IQ etc that is needed but belief

(iii) I'll give examples of

  • Hellen Keller - deaf and blind yet great inspirational story to millions as an author, activist
  • para athletes - inspite of physical disabilities pursue their interests like football, swimming and excel

(iv) Your friends bully you because they are afraid that you might overtake them, because they know you are very hardworking and dedicated

↑ → to boost her self-confidence

Close · a summary

Therefore by infusing belief that she can play and excel and raising her self confidence through motivation I'll make her pick up sports again.
