Don’t confuse with MY Bharat vs Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan: NYKS is a long-standing autonomous youth body under the same ministry with field units. MY Bharat is a digital platform launched in 2023.
Don’t confuse with MY Bharat vs NSS: NSS is a volunteering scheme for students. It uses MY Bharat as a tool for registration and monitoring.
Schemes: 52 Prelims questions since 2013, 10 in Prelims 2026 alone. They test features, the period and who funds it. In Mains, 33 news-triggered questions, mostly GS3.
Why it matters
- Uses digital public infrastructure to give youth one entry point to volunteering, learning and civic participation.
- Helps turn the demographic dividend into skills and civic engagement.
Problems
- Digital divide may limit access for rural and poorer youth.
- Participation counts, such as downloads and registrations, may not show real outcomes or employability.
Way forward
- Track outcomes such as placements and completed learning, not just registrations.
- Expand offline outreach and local-language support to include youth without digital access.

No practice question for this one; the card may still help an answer. Why: A lasting youth platform on the syllabus. Schemes are 52 of 327 news-linked Prelims questions, but this release has few testable facts beyond launch year and ministry.
Worth revising until Prelims 2028: most news questions come within two years of the event.
