Body · points

(a) Probity: Probity = Honesty + Accountability + Ethics

Showing probity in civil service will ensure that a civil servant, while holding rules and laws, also shows ethical considerations while making decisions. A civil servant can be accountable in his/her work and hence administration will become citizen centric.

(b) Service Principle: Working as an administrator / policymaker is not just a job, but a 'service' to the people. Therefore, there is utter relevance of 'service principle' in a civil servant's job. Only a person holding this principle in mind will work conscientiously and with an objective to have 'greatest goods' for the greatest numbers.

(c) Conscientiousness: The moral faculty which enables you to make intellectual judgments is called Conscientiousness. This value is very importance for a civil servant as only a conscientious person will take decisions rationally, objectively and at the same time, for largest good of the community.

(d) Collegiality: A civil servant has to work in a team and most often, act as a leader of the team. Therefore, in order to have better efficiency, productivity, better team spirit, sense of responsibility and build up of social capital, collegiality is of utmost importance.
