Organ donation by living donors clearly saves lives but one person becomes a patient to benefit another person who is already a patient. Discuss the ethical questions involved in organ donation and transplantation.

Opening

It is said that organs donation by a braindead person can save lives of more than eight people which is an altruistic act even after the death of a person.

Body · continuous prose

Organ and transplantation act allows person to donate both when one is alive and dead. It raises the ethical questions of compromising one's health to help another.

A person by donating his/her kidney or liver compromises their health by taking lifelong medication or under checkup. But one act of this saves life of another which is an 'altruistic' and 'compassionate' act any one can take.

This generous act of donating / transplantation gives hope, life and light for not only the patient but to entire family of theirs.

All donations need not make oneself patient like hair donation (for cancer patients) and bonemarrow donation (for blood cancer) does not affect the lifestyle and health of donor, which encourages them to take the act of generosity.

Close

When one's life become meaningful even after death, it is noble act to donate the organs instead of decomposing the valuable organs in soil.
