A person can be judged "good" on the basis of values like compassion, equality, respect and dignity to all, truthful, honest, non-violent and peaceful, maintains good relations with all etc.

Similarly a person can be called "good citizen" if he adheres by constitutional values and principles, respects rule of law, abides by his duties like paying taxes, following traffic rules etc.

Both not always same, though there exists lot of overlap in the values to judge "good person" and "good citizen"

Body · points and prose

e.g. patriarchal social set up where dowry is prevalent → a "good person" may see dowry as a common practice and accept it.. But it is illegal, violates his citizen duty.

Therefore while a "good citizen" can be objectively defined, who is "good person" is based on society to society subjective norms and values.

e.g. • martial race may consider killing a heroic act, great valoue of the person (noble act). • In modern civilised societies may call this criminal act - bad person evil act demands punishment.

Therefore "good person" need not always be a "good citizen", so we need to align modern society norms/values with constitutional /legal values to make all "good citizens".
