Body · points
(i) sustainability of the decisions taken e.g: 2G spectrum allocation (cancellation by SC)
(ii) retaining public faith, investor confidence • as it ensures transparency, stability, objectivity in decision taking
(iii) reduces corruption; abuse of power; promotes public interest. ∴ contributes to effectiveness in the long run.
Accountability vs Responsibility Responsibility means imposing authority to perform a task, make a decision to a person on the basis of trust.
This trust, responsibility gives authority to the stakeholders, public to hold the person "accountable" i.e. Answerable for decisions taken. Therefore Accountability flows from responsibility.
