Opening · a definition

Attitude refers to pre learned predisposition to act in a certain manner with respect to an object.

Body · points and prose

Thus our attitude towards situations or objects has great influence on our behaviour.

for eg: positve attitude to gender equality → Likely to speak up agadenst gender descrimination at one's work place.

On the other hand, since attitude is a learned or acquired predisposition, it can be modified by targeting behaviour.

for eg: penalising behaviour of coming late to office → employees more likely to come on time ↓ Eventually they may develop positive attitude towards discipline

However, extenal environment

extenal environment ↓ [Attitude] ↔ [Behaviour]

in some cases, extenal environment may prevent changes in one resulting in changes in other.

For eg:

Developed positive attitude towards gender equality → (extenal env: work culture is strongly discriminative) → unlikely to display changed behaviour in fear of being left out or penalised etc.

Thus although closely interwoven, other aspect such as extenal environment must be considered while targeting behaviour changes.
