Opening · a definition

Green hydrogen is produced by the electrolysis of water using renewable energy. It can be a silver bullet to tackle climate change.

ARGUMENTS IN FAVOUR:-

Body · points

→ National Green Hydrogen Mission promotes the use of green hydrogen in vehicles, industries. → Chemicals and fertilizers produced using green hydrogen will cause less pollution.

ARGUMENTS AGAINST:- → Renewable energy production requires solar chips which requires mining of minerals like lithium, cobalt.

→ Mining is itself a process that produces a lot of carbon emissions. → Hydrogen is a highly inflammable fuel, thus it can pose safety risks.

Close · a summary

Thus, hydrogen has the potential to tackle climate change but safety concerns must also be addressed.
