Opening

With high incidence of cancer fuelled by modern lifestyle and enormous expenditure on its treatment (Jairam Ramesh committee - PSC), technological interventions like CAR-T can be a major breakthrough.

Body · points and prose

→ (CAR-T) Chimeric Antigen Receptor-T cell uses genetic engineering to alter the immunity delivering T-cell that could encode targeted protein to kill the cancerous cells.

→ This is an advancement to CRISPR-Cas9 technology where Cas9 protein was used with genetic scissor technology to encode targeted genes to tackle cancerous cells.

Diagram
- Central Node: CAR-T can overcome limitations of CRISPR-9 - Arrow 1: Requires minimal infusion in body and reduces frequencies of hospital visits - Arrow 2: Reduces the risk of body's repulsiveness → more effectiveness - Arrow 3: Low cost and more scalable than CRISPR-9 - Arrow 4: less side effects as compared to CRISPR-9 - Arrow 5: Targetted approach of CAR-T has better prognosis & survival rate as compared to CRISPR-9 - Arrow 6: CRISPR-9 requires stringent laboratory condition for Cas9 protein to be activated - difficult to achieve.

So, cancer survivors are not warriors, but the ones who is going through the treatment itself is one, CAR-T therapy becomes the largest weapon in this fight.
