The uneven temperature distribution of Earth's surface is due to factors like:

Body · points

  1. AXIS of the earth is inclined at 23 1/2° N from the equator. Due to this, the solar rays fall directly on equator, making equator the warmest portions on earth and the poles, the coolest portion.

  2. ROTATION of earth causes day and night, which leads to different temperature.

  3. REVOLUTION of earth around the sun leads to sun's rays falling directly on Tropic of

Cancer in the summers. Hence, deserts are found there.

→ In winters, sun's rays fall overhead on Tropic of Capricorn and hence, deserts are also found here.

Thus, the latitudes, axis, spin and revolution of Earth determines distribution of temperature on Earth's surface.
