AnswerUPSC’s answer is (b).
Parishishtaparvan is a Jaina work by Hemachandra, and the Trishashtilakshana Mahapurana is a Jaina text on the sixty-three great persons of the tradition. Nettipakarana is a Pali Buddhist text, and Avadanashataka is a Sanskrit Buddhist collection of avadana stories. So only 2 and 4 are Jaina texts.

- 2. Parishishtaparvan is Hemachandra's Jaina work.
- 3. Avadanashataka is a Buddhist collection of stories.
- 4. Trishashtilakshana Mahapurana is a Jaina text.
How you could have got this
- If you were sure statement 3 is not correct, (a), (c) and (d) go: each of them includes 3.
What you needed to know: Avadanashataka is a Buddhist collection of stories.
Only (b) is left. You didn’t need statements 1, 2 or 4.
Which options go is worked out from UPSC’s key and the options, not by a model.
