AnswerUPSC’s answer is (c).
Order the cities by latitude, from south to north: Jakarta is at about 6 degrees south, Singapore at about 1 degree north, Bangkok at about 14 degrees north and Hanoi at about 21 degrees north. So the sequence is Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Hanoi, which is 3-4-1-2.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Wrong. This puts Singapore first and Jakarta last, which is incorrect.
- (b) Wrong. It puts Hanoi before Singapore and Bangkok, but Hanoi is the northernmost.
