AnswerThe answer is (a).
The flying fox is a large fruit bat (genus Pteropus), the biggest of the Indian bats, with a wingspan of well over a metre. It eats fruit and nectar and helps pollinate plants and disperse seeds. It is not a bird, so the kite, stork and vulture options are wrong.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Right: the flying fox is a fruit bat.
- (b) A kite is a bird of prey.
- (c) A stork is a wading bird.
- (d) A vulture is a scavenging bird.
