Which of the following pairs are correctly matched? Waterfalls — River

1.Kapildhara Falls : Godavari
2.Jog Falls : Sharavati
3.Sivasamudram Falls : Cauvery

Select the correct answer using the code given below:

a1 and 2 only

b2 and 3 only

c1 and 3 only

d1, 2 and 3

AnswerThe answer is (b).

Pairs 2 and 3 are correct. Jog Falls, also called Gersoppa Falls, is on the Sharavati river in Karnataka, and Sivasamudram Falls is on the Cauvery, also in Karnataka. Kapildhara Falls is on the Narmada, near its source at Amarkantak, not on the Godavari.

1. Kapildhara Falls is on the Narmada, not the Godavari.
2. Jog Falls is on the Sharavati.
3. Sivasamudram Falls is on the Cauvery.

How you could have got this

If you were sure statement 1 is not correct, (a), (c) and (d) go: each of them includes 1.
What you needed to know: Kapildhara Falls is on the Narmada, not the Godavari.

Only (b) is left. You didn’t need statements 2 or 3.
