According to IPCC report- the global sea level is rising in alarming rates compared to last decade due to rampant climate change.
Consequences of rising global level:
Body · points
(1) Social :- → costal erosion leeds to destruction of houses and dissipate the livelihoods of fishermen. → excites inequality in society by income loss. → disruptions in the community leads to disintegration of coastal societies.
(2) Ecological: → Ecological imbalance during disasters &
cyclones, tsunamis → leads to pollution of water → loss of cattle and other plant species due to coastal erosion impairs the biodiversity of the region.
Economic costs
→ due to loss of lives and property → bears on governments exchequer to rehabilitate and rebuild the effected. → Economic imbalance due to loss of livelihood which inturns exete economic inequality i.e Rich and poor.
measures to arrest, adapt and mitigate : (1) To check the climate change by adopting greener energies
i.e reducing global warming (2) to build the structural and non structural resilient measures to mitigate the effects of coastal erosion ex: Make shift tents. (3) By leveraging the technology

to warn and inform the coastal people and shift them to safer places.
As it is not possible to confront against natural disasters it is better to mitigate and prevent them.
