Opening

Family is the nursery where blooms of values & ethics in children are cultivated.

It forms the first building-block of the value system of the society.

Family enables a child to inculcate the basic human values like love, compassion, honesty, brotherhood, tolerance, self-respect, pride in our own culture while respecting others, humanity, accountability, loyalty, consideration, and many more.

A child can be taught to stand by the values & principles in his life while making decisions.

Family enables mental growth and decision making power of a child.

Parents & elders act as role models and children tend to emulate them.

Foreg. (1) when parents follow traffic rules, children are more likely to do so.

a family where a girl child is treated as a second citizen, the boy raised in such a family will treat his wife in the same way & find nothing about it.

Thus, as APJ Kalam mentions how his father taught him values of a good person - not accepting gifts - made him a great personality of all times.

In order to accommodate new challenges in value education, following modifications can be made:

Body · points and prose

  1. Parents should become 'friends' with the children, not & not act as a strict master.
  2. Values like accountability & professionalism must also be taught so that children become 'good employees'.

Close · a summary

Thus, family, as the first breeding ground of values, is the most significant part of value system.
