- 1.The period of its implementation is 1st April, 2021 to 31st March, 2026.
- 2.The key objective of the Revamped RGSA is to develop the governance capabilities of the Panchayati Raj Institutions to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals.
- 3.The share of the Central funding for the Revamped RGSA is 100% for all States and Union Territories.
Select the answer using the code given below :
AnswerUPSC’s answer is (b).
The Revamped RGSA, approved in April 2022, runs from 2022-23 to 2025-26, not from 1 April 2021, so statement 1 is wrong. Its key objective is to develop the governance capabilities of Panchayati Raj Institutions so they can deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals, so statement 2 is right. Central funding is not 100 per cent for all: it is 60 per cent for most States and 90 per cent for North-eastern and hill States, with Union Territories fully funded.
- 1. The scheme period is 2022-23 to 2025-26.
- 2. It builds the governance capacity of PRIs to deliver on the SDGs.
- 3. Central share varies; it is not 100 per cent for all States.
How you could have got this
- If you were sure statement 3 is not correct, (c) and (d) go: each of them includes 3.
What you needed to know: Central share varies; it is not 100 per cent for all States.
The red flag in statement 3 is “all”. In UPSC’s papers, statements with “all” were true 41% of the time (76 statements). A hint, not a rule.
- Then, if you were sure statement 1 is not correct, (a) goes: it includes 1.
What you needed to know: The scheme period is 2022-23 to 2025-26.
Only (b) is left. You didn’t need statement 2.
This follows UPSC’s provisional key; the final key could change it.
Which options go is worked out from UPSC’s key and the options, not by a model.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Wrong: the period is not from 1 April 2021.
- (b) Right: only the objective statement is correct.
- (c) Wrong: statements 1 and 3 are both incorrect.
- (d) Wrong: Central funding differs by State, so statement 3 is incorrect.
Only the provisional key (27 May 2026) was found; the final key replaces it when found.
Answer: UPSC’s key. Explanation: written by UPSC Grade, not by UPSC.
