- 1.Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project
- 2.IMT Trilateral Highway

Select the answer using the code given below :
AnswerUPSC’s answer is (a).
The Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project links Kolkata with Mizoram through Sittwe in Myanmar, and the IMT Trilateral Highway links India, Myanmar and Thailand. Myanmar and Thailand are ASEAN members, so both are India-ASEAN connectivity projects. The Agartala-Akhaura rail line links India and Bangladesh, which is not an ASEAN member, so it belongs to India-Bangladesh cooperation.
- 1. Kaladan runs through Myanmar, an ASEAN member.
- 2. The highway links India, Myanmar and Thailand.
- 3. The rail line is with Bangladesh, not an ASEAN member.
How you could have got this
- If you were sure statement 1 is correct, (b) and (d) go: each of them leaves 1 out.
What you needed to know: Kaladan runs through Myanmar, an ASEAN member.
- Then, if you were sure statement 2 is correct, (c) goes: it leaves 2 out.
What you needed to know: The highway links India, Myanmar and Thailand.
Only (a) is left. You didn’t need statement 3.
This follows UPSC’s provisional key; the final key could change it.
Which options go is worked out from UPSC’s key and the options, not by a model.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Right: Kaladan and the IMT Trilateral Highway involve ASEAN members.
- (b) Wrong: the Agartala-Akhaura line is with Bangladesh.
- (c) Wrong: the Agartala-Akhaura line is with Bangladesh, not an ASEAN member.
- (d) Incomplete: Kaladan also involves Myanmar.
Only the provisional key (27 May 2026) was found; the final key replaces it when found.
