Kodaikanal Lake in Tamil Nadu is man-made: it was created in 1863 by damming streams in the Palani Hills. Kolleru in Andhra Pradesh is a natural freshwater lake between the Godavari and Krishna deltas. Nainital in Uttarakhand is a natural lake of tectonic origin. Renuka Lake in Himachal Pradesh is a natural lake too.
