aChambal
bNarmada
cTapi

AnswerThe answer is (b).

The Omkareshwar Project is a hydroelectric and irrigation project on the Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh, built at Omkareshwar, an island sacred to Shiva. It is one of the dams in the Narmada valley, along with Indira Sagar and Sardar Sarovar. The Chambal, Tapi and Bhima have other projects, such as Gandhi Sagar, Ukai and Ujani.

Why each option is right or wrong
  • (a) The Chambal has projects such as Gandhi Sagar, not Omkareshwar.
  • (b) Omkareshwar is on the Narmada.
  • (c) The Tapi has projects such as Ukai.
  • (d) The Bhima has projects such as Ujani.
