Question 123: Economy and Social Development
Rajiv Gandhi National Flying Institute is being established in which State?
aKarnataka
bMaharashtra
cKerala
dOrissa
AnswerThe answer is (b).
The Rajiv Gandhi National Flying Institute was planned at Gondia in Maharashtra, at the Birsi airport, as a training academy for commercial pilots. Maharashtra is therefore the State. Compare the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi at Fursatganj in Uttar Pradesh, which is the older pilot training institute.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Karnataka is not the State where it was planned.
- (b) Maharashtra, at Gondia, is the State.
- (c) Kerala is not the State where it was planned.
- (d) Orissa is not the State where it was planned.
