In the latter half of the year 2006, in which one of the following countries did a military coup take place?

aCambodia
bLaos
cThailand

AnswerThe answer is (c).

On 19 September 2006 the Thai army, led by General Sonthi Boonyaratglin, overthrew Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra while he was abroad. It was Thailand's first coup in about 15 years. Thaksin had been Prime Minister since 2001. Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam saw no coup in 2006.
