- 2.Damodar Valley Corporation includes thermal and gas power stations.
Which of these statements given above is/are correct?
AnswerThe answer is (c).
Both statements are correct. The Damodar Valley Corporation, set up in 1948 on the model of the Tennessee Valley Authority, was the first multipurpose river valley project of independent India. Besides hydel stations it runs thermal and gas-based power stations, which makes statement 2 correct too.
- 1. DVC (1948) was independent India's first multipurpose river valley project.
- 2. DVC also operates thermal and gas-based stations.
