aMazharul Haque
bMaulana Hasrat Mohani

AnswerThe answer is (b).
Maulana Hasrat Mohani moved the proposal that Swaraj should mean complete independence free from all foreign control at the Ahmedabad Congress of 1921. The Congress did not accept it then, and adopted Purna Swaraj as its goal only at Lahore in 1929. Remember Hasrat Mohani as the first to raise the demand.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Mazharul Haque was a Bihar leader but is not linked to this proposal.
- (b) Correct: Hasrat Mohani proposed complete independence in 1921.
- (c) Hakim Ajmal Khan was a Congress and Khilafat leader but did not make this proposal.
