Question 15: International Relations and Current Affairs
Who is the author of the book ‘New Dimensions of India’s Foreign Policy’?
aA B Vajpayee
bJaswant Singh
cP C Alexander
dYashwant Sinha
AnswerThe answer is (a).
'New Dimensions of India's Foreign Policy' is a collection of speeches by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, published in 1979 from his time as External Affairs Minister in the Janata government (1977-79). The other three names wrote other works. Remember Vajpayee as the Janata-era Foreign Minister who addressed the UN General Assembly in Hindi for the first time in 1977.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Correct: Vajpayee's speeches as External Affairs Minister.
- (b) Jaswant Singh wrote other books, such as one on Jinnah, not this one.
- (c) P C Alexander is known for his memoir of administrative life, not this book.
- (d) Yashwant Sinha was Foreign Minister later (2002-04) but did not write this book.
