Question 66: Geography
Which one of the following statements is not correct? Dinar/New dinar is the currency of
aSudan
bYugoslavia
cUAE
dTunisia
AnswerThe answer is (c).
Dinar is the currency of Sudan (at the time), Yugoslavia (the new dinar) and Tunisia. The United Arab Emirates uses the dirham, so the statement about the UAE is the one that is not correct. Remember: dirham means UAE (and Morocco); dinar means Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq and Algeria.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Not the answer. Sudan used the dinar then (since replaced by the Sudanese pound).
- (b) Not the answer. Yugoslavia used the new dinar.
- (c) Right. The UAE's currency is the dirham, not the dinar.
- (d) Not the answer. Tunisia uses the dinar.
