Question 132: Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability
On another planet, the local terminology for earth, water, light, air and sky are ‘sky’, ‘light’, ‘air’, ‘water’ and ‘earth’ respectively. If someone is thirsty there, what would he drink?
AnswerThe answer is (d).
Translate each local name: earth is called 'sky', water is called 'light', light is called 'air', air is called 'water' and sky is called 'earth'. A thirsty person drinks water, and on that planet water is called 'light'. So he would drink 'light'. Remember: find the item's real name, then look up the local word for it.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) Wrong. 'Sky' is their word for earth.
- (b) Wrong. 'Water' is their word for air.
- (c) Wrong. 'Air' is their word for light.
- (d) Right. 'Light' is their word for water.
