Question 141: Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability
If in a certain code SAND is VDQG and BIRD is ELUG, then what is the code for LOVE?
aPRYG
bORTG
cNPUH
dORYH
AnswerThe answer is (d).
In SAND to VDQG each letter moves three places forward: S to V, A to D, N to Q, D to G. BIRD to ELUG follows the same rule. Applying it to LOVE: L to O, O to R, V to Y, E to H, giving ORYH.
Why each option is right or wrong
- (a) PRYG does not move each letter by three.
- (b) ORTG does not move V and E by three.
- (c) NPUH does not move each letter by three.
- (d) Right: each letter moved three places forward gives ORYH.
