The Almatti Dam, also called the Lal Bahadur Shastri Sagar, is built across the Krishna river in northern Karnataka, where it supplies irrigation and hydropower. The Krishna rises in the Western Ghats near Mahabaleshwar and flows through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Remember Almatti with the Krishna and Karnataka.
