Opening

India has emerged as a mighty and responsible space power. With launch of more than 25 satellites in one go, India has proven its scientific and technological ability to the world.

Body · continuous prose

However, there is a need for a space law that protects country's sovereign, public & commercial interests.

This is because, we depend on other countries for most of our space programmes and there is an implicit contract of sharing our critical information with our partners.

Most of the programmes, supported by other countries lead to excessive loss of our foreign reserves.

Our commercial interests are also harmed due to lack of pricing policy and when it comes to launching satellites of other countries.

Thus, we need a space law that will protect country's sovereignty, public & commercial interests.
